COMPANY HISTORY
BASCHILD comes from the vision of Gian Pietro Baschenis and his passion for wood in Averara, a small town in the Brembana Valley, where his father and grandfather ran a woodworking business.
During his first experiences in carpentry and until 1978, Gian Pietro developed his knowledge of the first drying technologies available at the time. In the following years he established a collaboration with the main dryer manufacturer in Germany, establishing a partnership that lasted 5 years and acquiring additional expertise in the woodworking field.
In 1988, thanks to the experience gained and the favorable feedback from customers, Gian Pietro and his wife Luisella Rovaris chose to take the plunge and founded BASCHILD.
Initially the headquarters was located in Mozzo (BG) and only two employees worked there. But the structure grew rapidly and in the 1990s their son Mauro Baschenis and daughter Elena Baschenis also began their careers in the company.
Thanks to the growing number of orders and the quality level achieved by the products, BASCHILD has operated two expansions: the first in 1996 with the new headquarters in Roncola di Treviolo (BG), and the second in 2005 with the construction of the current headquarters in Treviolo .
Starting from the 2000s BASCHILD broadens the horizons, begins to build dryers for all five continents and establishes collaborations with foreign companies for the marketing of its products. These include the partnership with the German affiliate MAHILD, thanks to which the best drying technologies meet the major global players.
Also in the early 2000s, BASCHILD began producing the first systems for the thermo-modification of wood, soon becoming one of the European leaders in this segment. The Baschenis family had another intuition and in 2008 EVOLEN was founded, a company based in Croatia that produces outdoor flooring and coverings, using thermo-modified wood in the BASCHILD kilns.
BASCHILD is today inextricably interwoven to the Baschenis family, led by Mauro and Elena in the wake of traditions, and at the same time projected onto the challenges of tomorrow.
